The Selero FIX Engine is based on the Company’s Integration Product Suite and Hosted Services. In other words, it is optimized for counterparty connectivity of all sorts, including Financial Information exchange (FIX) messaging. Selero chose this approach, because FIX is pervasive but not universal. In addition, many companies take advantage of the option of adding user-defined fields to the standard FIX format, effectively creating proprietary formats. In other words, the standard isn’t really standard, and the world of connecting counterparties is more heterogeneous than FIX suggests.

The Engine is available as licensed software or as a FIX network hosted by Selero.

In addition, Selero can make agency brokerage services available to its customers through its affiliation with Nunami Services LLC, Member FINRA, www.nunami.net.

What is FIX?

FIX is a messaging standard for transcribing pre-trade and trade information, including Indications of Interest IOI’s, allocations, orders and confirmations, into a common message format. It was developed as an industry-wide initiative to improve real-time electronic securities trading. The FIX protocol defines both the message format as well as the session level protocol for transmitting the information and replaces telephones, faxes and emails, minimizing the chance of human error in processing transactions and executing trades.
