John Bentley - Partner/Co-Founder, Grayhawk CapitalJohn is a partner and co-founder of Grayhawk Capital and Cornerstone Equity Partners. He has significant experience in capitalizing and growing young companies. Prior to Cornerstone, Mr. Bentley spent six years with Banc One Capital Corporation where he was a partner in the merchant banking group (where he began working with Sherman Chu). Mr. Bentley also spent four years as Chief Financial Officer of R.J. Moran, Inc., a diversified holding company. Mr. Bentley has served on 22 private company boards and currently serves on the board of Baylor University Endowment Fund. Mr. Bentley earned a B.B.A. from Baylor University. Don Parsons - Managing Director, Appian VenturesDon is a founding member of Appian and serves on its investment committee. He currently represents Appian on the boards of Collective Intellect, IP Commerce, Oxlo Systems, Selero and Valen Technologies. He is responsible for Appian's investment in UnivaUD. Prior to its sale to Hewlett-Packard, he was responsible for Appian's investment in LeftHand Networks.Previously, Don served as a general partner of Centennial Ventures, a Denver-based firm specializing in telecom services and communications technologies, where he served as a board and investment team member for several IT/Communications companies, including HighGround Systems (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Raindance Communications (NASDAQ: RNDC, acquired by West Media), Ecrix (acquired by Exabyte/Tandberg), Verio (acquired by NTT) and Pluto Technologies (acquired by NASDAQ:Avid). Prior to his career in venture capital, Don was a design engineer with IBM's Personal Computer Division in Boca Raton, Florida. Don is a founding board member of Colorado's chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is also a current member and the former president and chairman of the Colorado Venture Capital Association. Don is on the Board of Trustees of the Graland Country Day School. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan Business School. Fred Horn - CEOMr. Horn is responsible for setting Selero's strategic direction, building a comprehensive structure for successful execution, and driving profitable growth. Prior to joining Selero, Mr. Horn was a senior executive at New Era of Networks for five years, playing lead roles in all aspects of the business from engineering to sales, and culminating in the role of EVP of Operations. Mr. Horn was responsible for worldwide software sales, professional services and partner / channel development, driving $200 million in revenue and a staff of 500 located in Denver, New York, London, Zurich, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney. During his tenure, New Era of Networks grew from $3 million to $200 million in revenue and from 70 to 1000 employees. Prior to New Era of Networks, Mr. Horn was a partner in the management consulting practice of Ernst & Young developing and implementing strategic technology initiatives in international clients such as Bank of America worldwide, Swiss Bank Corporation, JP Morgan, and Nicholas Applegate. In addition, Mr. Horn was the co-head of Equities Information Technology at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for worldwide basket (program) trading, portfolio accounting, and the customer statements and position keeping systems. |
